UComms Webinar 2020

After the postponement of the UComms conference (currently scheduled to be held September 2021), we have been working to set up a webinar.

Thanks to CMRE, the NATO ACT, the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society and the speakers that very generously agreed to take part in this event, we can now announce the first UComms webinar, to happen between the 1st and 4th of December 2020. The webinar is free and open to all. It will be streamed live through CMRE's Facebook page.

This is not a replacement of the conference but rather an opportunity to come together and discuss the topics that are dear to us.

The format is very simple: 4 days, 4 talks, 1 talk per day, always at 15:00 UTC. A time window of 90 min. is available each day to use for the talk and ample, interactive Q&A .

The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, December 1: "Underwater Acoustic Communications: Is Transmit Beamforming a Possibility?" by Milica Stojanovic

Wednesday, December 2: "Next Decade Challenges for Underwater Wireless Communication Networks" by Ian Akyildiz

Thursday, Decembner 3: "Underwater Acoustics in the Age of Differentiable and Probabilistic Programming" by Mandar Chitre

Friday, December 4: "JANUS - Why It Matters and the Critical Path Into the Future" by João Alves

Feel free to download and distribute the webinar program, complete with schedule, agenda and bios. Watch this space for info on how to attend the event.

As always, feel free to contact us at: secretariat@ucomms.net
